The goldenberry, Physalis peruviana L., is an important fruit in Colombia due to its export value and nutritional quality. However, commercial crops face challenges of heterogeneity the presence diseases that reduce yield These drawbacks could be handled through different breeding methods develop uniform cultivars, for example, anther culture, which used rapidly produce homozygous lines. ploidy level may change when using this technique. Therefore, study, parental plants obtained by culture was determined cytogenetics, flow cytometry, single-simple repeat or microsatellites (SSR).Additionally, condition degree heterozygosity were evaluated SSR. Cytogenetic analysis showed with 48 chromosomes generated 24, 32 chromosomes, mixoploids average nuclear DNA content between 5.04 20.08 pg. Diploid, tetraploid, hexaploidy, octoploid identified cytometry; highest levels (6x 8x) correspond mixoploid found cytogenetics. SSRs did not allow identifying lack a particular band pattern, however, they most culture. It concluded modified respect plants, cytometry efficient, precise, less laborious, compared determine goldenberry laboratory.
